Installing a Server Certificate on a Lotus Notes or Domino Server

This document introduces installing a Server Certificate, and answers questions you might have.

Installing a Server Certificate

When you receive your new Server Certificate , you need to extract it from the e-mail message and install it on your server. To do this:
  1. From your e-mail program, save the Server Certificate PRIVACY-ENHANCED message to a file, such as cert.txt. You do not need to save the entire e-mail message body, only the "PRIVACY-ENHANCED MESSAGE" section.
  2. Open the SSL Administration interface.
  3. Choose merge certificate into key ring.
  4. Specify the Global Server Certificate file name. This is the file name you specified when you saved your Global Server Certificate in Step 1. You must enter the full path to the specified file, for example c:\notes\data\cert.txt.
  5. Specify the key ring file name, keyfile.kyr. This is the file name you specified when you created your key ring. You must enter the full path to the specified file, for example c:\notes\data\keyfile.kyr.
  6. Enter your key ring password. This is the password you entered when you created the key ring.
